Flautist Sally Walker and Simon Tedeschi will perform their critically acclaimed French Miniatures recital Saturday 4 June in Brisbane as part of Music by The Sea.
Flautist Sally Walker has toured and recorded with the Berlin Philharmonic and Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestras, is regular Guest Principal with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Principal Flautist with the Omega Ensemble. Lecturer in Classical Woodwind at the Australian National University, she performs on modern flutes, piccolo and historical flutes and recorders, and has performed in the London Proms, Salzburg, Lucerne, Tanglewood and Edinburgh Festivals.
Simon Tedeschi is one of Australia’s most renowned classical pianists, winner of the Young Performer of the Year Award (Australia), the Creativity Foundation’s Legacy Award (USA), and the New York Young Jewish Pianist Award. Recipient of a Centenary of Federation Medal, he has performed for audiences, royalty and world leaders worldwide, from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall via Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. Soloist with orchestras around Australia and abroad, he has recorded numerous acclaimed albums for ABC Classics/UMA, including Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, R. Strauss’ Enoch Arden with John Bell AO, Schumann, Schubert, and concerti by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Grieg and Gershwin.

Music By The Sea conducts monthly (first Saturday of the month) concerts at the Sandgate Town Hall, Brisbane. The concert series began in 1997. Program presented is classical, folk, jazz and world music. Find out more.
